Brand & Digital Creator

My name is Ben, and I help businesses, publishers, and entrepreneurs build strong, high-performing brands — both online and in print. With over 25 years of experience, I specialise in brand identity, digital design, and ecommerce, working across WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify to create seamless, professional online experiences.

Beyond digital, I’ve designed retail POS, packaging, and print marketing materials, ensuring brands look just as impactful in the real world as they do online. Whether it’s a high-converting Shopify store, a strong new brand identity, or packaging that stands out on the shelf, my focus is always on clarity, detail, and results.

Publishing Designer

I started my publishing career in 1996 at MATCH Football Magazine for EMAP (now Bauer Media) – yes, I’m old! It was my first commercial design job, where I put my typography knowledge to work, experimented with layout and structure – and actually got paid for it. A revelation after years of being a student!

Since then, I’ve designed countless books, magazines, and publications, helping self-publishers, authors, and businesses create market-ready print and digital editions. Since 2008, I’ve been the Art Editor of Reflections Magazine, Derbyshire’s largest-circulation publication, overseeing its design and working closely with its sales team and advertisers to create engaging content. That experience has also given me valuable insight into print advertising and marketing, balancing storytelling with commercial impact – creating content that not only engages but also converts.

I’m always looking for ways to make publishing more accessible. That’s why I created the Book Page Calculator – a tool to help authors and publishers estimate their book’s page count accurately. I built it to solve a challenge I faced in my own work, and I hope it makes the publishing process easier for others too.
